About

By way of introduction, I’m Jim Hoag. My incredible wife, Bobbi, and I have lived in the Burlington area of Vermont for the last 13 years. Our two sons, Zach and Nick, (two of my all-time heroes) are now awesome men of God starting families of their own. Our journey with the Lord has included pastoring a local church, home-schooling our sons, and a variety of ministry opportunities provided by the Lord over the past 31 years. We are curently part of a core group planting a church in downtown Burlington called “Dwell Missional Church”. John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and dwelled among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and of truth“.

In creating this blog, Bobbi and I simply seek to honor Jesus Christ by adding our part to all the other bloggers and churches who are bringing glory to God. Our desire is to encourage and build up the body of Christ as we press on to follow Jesus. We will blog about a variety of things, but specifically what the Lord is emphasizing to our hearts. Currently, that includes mission and the glorious GRACE of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that the church of Jesus Christ is at its very foundation a sent community, an organic church, founded on grace, characterized by presence “among”. (John 1:14, Acts 1:8).

May you be built up in your most holy faith and in your relationship with the Lord through the entries on this blog.

Grace! Yes! Anything less is deception…smoke and mirrors. Great thoughts, thanks. God’s peace!

    Jim,

Hi, I just came across your blog. I’m with the Oasis Network For Churches, a relational group of churches committed to sharing the radical message of God’s grace. J. Prince is a big influence of ours. I had read some stuff on your blog about Destined to Reign and was hoping to hear more about what you have going on. Feel free to contact me anytime at my email address. Thanks.

Hey Jim! Just checking out your blog here. Good stuff, brother! I love how your heart is oriented.

It’s just so awesome that there is only one mission, but that mission is not only one thing, isn’t it? That a blog can be part of the mission and so can loving on folks on Church Street as well as feeding starving orphans in Africa. The mission is Christ, bringing His Kingdom to the here and now, bringing love, being love. And I just think that’s absolutely amazing.

    Love you, pops,

    Harold.
